wow, pretty fail. not once, but twice. what a bunch of nubes. could have easily been a fatal disaster.

the comment from the company doing the demolition is disgusting.

The demolition was being conducted by Global Excavation and Demolition.

The company was not commenting on the incidents, except to say that all the safety measures were in place and that at the end of the day, it was a good news story because nobody was hurt.

Property owner James Schouw said he won't lay blame until he sees the results of the investigation.

"I can't say that anybody did something wrong. … I'd like to know if there was any carelessness, but I'm not assuming that for a second," he said.

Schouw said the demolition was done by a company he hired, Global Excavation and Demolition, and he believes all the necessary permits were in place.

Schouw said his company will delay taking down a second building on the site until it gets approval from the city and WorkSafe BC.

"I just personally want to make sure that, you know, everything is in good order before we proceed," he said.

"So whether that means the last building, the second building, is going to be taken down on Monday morning or Thursday afternoon or even later, I really don't know, but I'd like to make sure that all interested parties are satisfied before moving forward."
