Watch out for creepy guy on public transit

Reports of a someone targetting young males on the bus. Seems to be confirmed by multiple people on reddit, but do remember that it is the internet. So be aware, but don't turn it into a witch hunt. http://www.reddit.com/r/vancouver/comments/oaee4/everyone_who_uses_public_transit_on_the_north/

At Phibbs Exchange, this man sat next to me on the 232 Grouse Mountain bus. He seemed to be putting an excessive amount of pressure on me with his left arm, I didn't think much of it, he seemed like a stocky guy. A little later on the ride he started moving his arm back and forth ever so slightly, while continuing to apply pressure. Then later around 23rd and Lonsdale he crept his right hand over to my thigh while looking straight ahead, not acknowledging what he was doing. When I pulled the cord to get off on Queens Rd(Around the Delbrook Rec-Center), I said "Excuse me" to get to the door, he got off at the same stop. At first he turned left at the sidewalk as I turned right. I look back, and he's facing me and not moving. I start to walk a little faster. I turn back again and he is still staring, but now he was following me. I decide not to go home, and walked straight into the rec-center. After a few minutes I poke my head out the door and I see him waiting at the corner. I proceed to call the RCMP and gave a description.

A few weeks later, I tell my friend about what happened. THE NEXT DAY, he calls me saying that he was on a nearly empty bus heading to Lonsdale Quay, and the man that fit the description was sitting next to him, putting pressure against him with his arm.

And tonight, that same friend saw him again, and confronted him saying "Haven't I seen you before?" while trying to take some pictures.

tl;dr: This guy was leaning against me on the bus and tried to slide his hand down my thigh, and tried to follow me home. Friend had similar encounter, and got a picture of him. Young male redditors on the North Shore beware of this man, and if he harasses you report him to the RCMP

I saw this EXACT guy rubbing against this poor asian guy on my way to work a while back. I knew I should have called the cops on him then! FYI I've seen him on 228,210 and 232

My boyfriend had mentioned a strange guy on the bus with him recently (sat right beside him on an empty bus) so after reading this, I forwarded it to him. Same guy!

Holy shit. I thought I was just being paranoid...This happened to me taking the 239 CapU bus a couple of weeks ago; this guy was seriously pressing against me, but I thought I was being paranoid. Tonight, I was a bit drunk and coming home from SFU, and I decided to post about some weird guy that was pressing up against me on facebook. Sparing the details, one of my friends directed me to this post, and honestly, this is the guy. Same hat, and coat too, but I took most notice of his mustache that you can see in the pic.

Next time I will be all up in his shit. I am small, but I am not the kind of guy to fuck with. Not that I will (or would want to) fight him, but public shame, or discretely telling translink to deal with this, is good enough for me.

Man accused of groping two young women on Vancouver's public transit system
Vancouver police are warning the public to watch out for a man in his 50s who allegedly groped and followed two young women on the city’s public transit system in separate incidents Wednesday.

Just after 11 a.m. on Feb. 22, the man got on a bus in Kerrisdale heading east down West 41 Avenue shortly after a 20-year-old woman boarded the bus. He sat down beside the woman and then allegedly began groping her leg and genitals, according to police. The startled woman jumped off the bus and boarded the SkyTrain downtown, but the man followed her onto the train and allegedly chased her a short distance as she got off at Stadium Station.

Just four hours later at 3:30 p.m., the man — described as a heavy-set Caucasian – allegedly groped a teenage girl on the Millennium SkyTrain line between New Westminster Lougheed stations. The man allegedly sat down next to the teen and began rubbing her thigh repeatedly. As the train entered the next station, she exited the train looking for help as the man got away in another SkyTrain car.

Police say the suspect has a salt-and-pepper coloured goatee, short dark hair, was wearing tan pants, a beige button-up shirt, dark vest and dark jacket.
