Roam If You WAnt To, Roam Around The World...

It's a song by the B52's. But it makes me wonder, is roaming now impossible? If you've watched any boarder security t.v. shows lately you'll see that things have changed dramatically and travelers are now grilled about how they will support themselves whilst overseas and if they can't make a good case that they will not be working, they are refused entry. ie. if you don't have enough money with you, then they presume you're guilt and that you will work illegally.

So how to the Roamers do it? How do people back pack around Europe with no fixed destination in mind, nor a lot of money? Is this no longer allowed? Are people no longer allowed to roam?

 

... my understanding is that people are prohibited from crossing borders with cash on them. there are certain limits you cannot exceed. this form of financial persecution is totally draconian and makes no sense ...
