Stumbled onto this on the weekend being touted as the "Asian Jersey Shore". I don't think a lot of people have this in mind when they think about Asians getting more exposure on North American television.

Apparently Scarlet Chan is (was?) a stripper and Peter Le does gay porn. Interesting sampling criteria.

I dedicate this blog to everyone who don't belong, who are outside of the box. To my hookers, whores, and cross-dressers... to my mother who taught me strength and courage... to the gays who embrace my slutty ways... I heart you.

Of course.. I did not grow up knowing that I want to be a stripper, but I knew that I want to be financially stable and independent, able to call the shots, travel the world, and not have roommates. These are all things that most people take years to achieve and I wanted to do it all in my 20s. So sex work is the perfect answer to my solution.. plus I legitimize it by writing my senior thesis on the exotic dance industry.

My involvement with sex work gave me financial independent and the freedom to make my own schedule. Sure I worked in a club.. but I operated as an independent contractor and I treated my employee (i.e. myself) extremely well. I only worked 3 days a week and was able to make more then enough to pay rent and save A LOT of money.

It was a humbling experience... and I'm happy to look back and think fondly of the strong women I worked with and the customers who needed to feel loved.
