Earls on Broadway (years ago, it's now closed)
    1. There are no sinks on the line, to wash your hands you'd have to go around back which nobody did because of how impractical it was.
    2. To make your plate look spotless, dirty rags would be reused over and over again.
    3. Since the surface sanitizing cleaning spray was "food-safe", they sprayed that shit liberally and it would splatter into all the ingredients and food. I don't know about you, but I don't want isopropanol and other chemicals on my burger :zipped:.
    4. They make us throw out food if it's been sitting there under the heat lamps too long. When the chef or sous chef wasn't looking, we'd hide them in the fridges to take home. I once hid a box of pizza in some bushes instead of throwing it out.

    - Pearl Fever gets their drink mixes from Bubble World.
    - Sun Sui Wah stores their mango pudding with uncovered meat.
    - NEVER buy pre-marinated supermarket meat, the marinade masks the smell of expiring meat.
    - restaurants don't do a good job washing vegetables, if they do it at all.
    - the 5 second rule is common in commercial kitchens

The BC or Canada's Top 100 Employers awards are meaningless because it's easy to cheat. The surveys are rigged and often filled out by bosses and management rather than the employees.

Many years ago I worked as a bartender and as part of my "training" I was shown how to fill several premium liquors with the bottom of the barrel versions.

A lot of asian restaurants are very cheap. They do dirty stuff like this.

  10. I used to work in the hotel industry. A common request from business men were contacts to local escort services. Some of them were even bold enough to offer money to the prettier front desk girls.

I work at a car dealership. Some of the guys in the service department would routinely take customer cars out on their lunch breaks.
