I board the Skytrain, and see an empty seat, but some lady is standing right in front of it, blocking anyone from getting to it. I say "Pardon me." and she turns to me and snarls "Excuse me would have worked!" and her friends blurts out "Some people have no manners."

Really? What's the difference between saying "Excuse me", or "Pardon me?" I thought they were one in the same, but I guess not.

... sounds like she may not have heard you say "excuse me." you may have gotten backlash no matter what you said, Elmware ...
