Ok, here in the Lower Mainland we call them 'Transfer Stations.' I had an old mattress and whilst it was great to be rid of it, I was so shocked and saddened at the smell of the place. It shouldn't be surprising - the mountain of garbage that has be constantly scooped from the bottom and piled on top by a big tractor. But the employees who have to work in that stench all day with no protection or clean air canisters ...nothing.

No one should be made to work in that kind of stench all day, everyday. It is very dangerous for the health of the lungs and brain. What gives?

Staff were organized and friendly despite terrible air. I don't know how.
