I don't understand why people just stand there in the way going "oh shit, I'm going to take a picture for my blog/facebook/twitter". WTF, you might not be directly damaging things but you're part of the problem.

Stabbings, looting, hospitals at capacity... what a joke.

Some of these are from the facebook group (way too many spam posts now), some are original. Keep in mind that while there is no hard evidence for most of these people below, all the police have to do is match their face with the plethora of pictures and videos that exist. Facial recognition software ftw. A few of these are highschool kids with their school listed, wouldn't be a bad idea to email their principals (h5).

Now isn't this stupid. I can see in a rational sense why people would riot over Human Rights Violations but to riot over a hockey game r u kidding me? Even if its the stanley cup this is still fucking ridiculous. Most of the riotters weren't even angry they were having fun smashing things. Honestly nothing but dumb asses with a collective mentality. Hockey and other team contact sports is nothing more than propaganda for the masses. To enjoy the game is one thing but to treat it as an obsession, a form of religion really demonstrates the stupidity of these street trash. Would love to see them try it in China or North Korea LOL. Everyone, including the spectators who egged them on would be dead in moments.

^It has very little to do with hockey, these people were just looking for an excuse to cause mayhem.

On the superficial level it seems like people are rioting for shit and giggles, but it's likely much more than that. For instance, I can't help but notice that a lot of the pictures are of Aboriginals and younger people, which makes me think that this is indicative of larger social problems in youth and marginalized segments of the population. Pent up anger at the establishment maybe? Although, there are bound to be idiots joining in just to be part of the bandwagon.

  17. The most dangerous creation of any society is the man who has nothing to lose. - James A. Baldwin

These people who were representing our city so poorly on the streets of Vancouver are not hockey fans, nor a true representation of what is to be "Canadian". I hope in the coming days we can not only reflect over why this happened, but why we have this morbid curiosity to watch it unfold. And

I'm sorry you to burst your bubble of ignorance, but you people with camera phones cheering in the background are enablers in this mess and have your self to thank for the broken glass you walked through on the way to work this morning. Let's prove to the people who did cause this destruction that punishment is still fashionable in our liberal country.
