are you sure Vanier Park can get me close enough? I'm planning to take photos and film some of it.

Yes it will, but you won't be able to hear the music which comes with the fireworks.
BTW lol, the fireworks are on OCEAN on a cargo plank ship.
VANIER PARK is right across from English Bay :p

It is super crowded, but it really is the best place to see it. I would brave the crowds at least once. Turn it into a day trip to the beach.

I remember Kitsilano and Vanier Park are not as crowded and the view was pretty good too.

I saw the USA Fireworks from on top of the Bathhouse at English Bay. I was really impressed with the timing of the fireworks and even the noises to the beat of the music! I haven't been to the fireworks in a few years ... the crowds on the beach were pretty bad but I didn't find it horrendous leaving with the crowds afterwards. Maybe it helped we were walking opposite the direction of traffic flow!

The worst part for me is always the journey home!

Although... I do have one embarrassing story a few years ago where I was near the water on fireworks night when it was already massively busy (I was at English Bay). I had explosive diarrhea to go to the washroom and rushed through the beach crowd in search of "relief". Line ups for washrooms were huge and most places were closed to the public or charged a fee (don't remember clearly). Needless to say, I felt like I was carrying a ticking time bomb.

I ended up going to a random Indian restaurant to "do my business", I got lucky.

Sorry if you regret reading this.

Lol. Good thing the "ticking time bomb" didn't go off in public. That would have been bad :p
