Hello, let me start by saying I do NOT work at head office, so I don't know exactly what's going on other than what I've read or heard thru the grapevine...

There are currently approx 25 to 30 Shuttle Operators who are getting trained to be Conventional Operators... There is a new posting up now to help replace those 25- 30 Shuttle Op's...
Some of the applicants caught up in the hiring freeze last May/Spring, are just now getting start dates in early April....
The next budget year does kick in on April 1...

Don't get discouraged... Sometimes things at CMBC/Transit do move glacially slow...

For some: West Vancouvers current need for "Summer" Conventional Transit Operators might be an option...

Got an Email this AM from CM HR again.

We’re in the process of assessing the status of our applicants in preparation of meeting our business needs for 2013. We anticipate that we’ll be able to move forward with previously held Conventional Transit Operator applications shortly, and are checking to see if you are still interested in remaining in the process.

Please reply directly to this email by Monday, April 1, 2013 indicating your continued or discontinued interest. If you are interested in remaining in the process, I will contact you by telephone to set up a panel interview once appointments have been scheduled. Please note this may not be for several more weeks. Due to a high volume of inquiries, please do not contact our offices by phone at this time

Sounds like things are slowly moving forward..

Hearing thru the grapevine that there is a current Conventional Operator training class of approx 6 new operators... And that they are aiming for approx one new class every month for the rest of the year...

Some of the suburban depots (Burnaby, North Van) are in need of a few more operators each, and there is some movement happening as a few operators transfer out to suburban depots...

Canada Line (ProTransBC) has added 4 INTERNAL Job Postings... If not filled INTERNALLY, they might open up to External/General Public applicants in about a week...
AirCare has a posting up for Part Time Inspectors at their North Surrey location...
BC Transit-VICTORIA continues to accept applications for both driving opportunities and also had a FAREBOX Opportunity posted as of late last week...

Numerous employment websites, any Panel Interview advice on those websites???

Good Luck! Try to be yourself, try to relax....

I think sky train looking for temporary part time worker and Canada line regular part time ....... 2nd for sky train attendant part time position ---R they work b/n early morning (4 , 5 am) to late night (11 pm).......? Never saw sky train attendant late night. Thanks it will be helpful for me.I m interested only in part time positions......

I believe that BCRTC/SkyTrain pays $31.97 an hour for their Guideway Servicepersons, and $27.06 an hour for their recently added Guideway Labourer positions... AND, at Coast Mountain Bus Company anyways, "Temps" don't get benefits but do get 20% MORE $$$ in lieu of benefits... "Regular" status means paid benefits and bus pass...
I don't know the SkyTrain Attendant shifts but assume that someone has to be on shift as early as the 5am start and as late as the 2am finish...

    GOOD LUCK!

Very frustrated and angry with Human resources, can't get through and have left voicemail over 3 days ago! Was scheduled for video test last year and have received no email since. Few days ago I thought I would check my profile for notification and to my shock saw all my documents and resume gone!!This is a joke!

Sorry to hear that Dave... Does HR "dump" everything after 6 months? I don't know....

Not sure if you'd be interested, but CMBC does have other opportunities right now (Get your foot in the door), including Customer Information Clerk P.T.T.: $20.91 an hour plus an extra 22% while temporary status, in lieu of benefits? Shift work out near Gateway Station....

SkyTrain had a posting up for Part Time Regular ("Regular"= paid benefits!) SkyTrain Attendants, $29.57 an hour after training?

Canada Line has reposted their need for Full Time Canada Line Attendants, $29.63 an hour after training?

I hope things get sorted out for you... Best of luck...

There are about 30 different opportunities on the various websites this week...
BC Transit-Victoria continues to accept new applications???
