I guarantee you will hear something this week for sure. The whole process took me seven months. Unless your medical went really bad, the physical part, I don't see any reason why you won't proceed. Don't worry!! YOU GOT THIS!!!!!

Hello All; I'm back from vacation!

Just noticing that they have re-posted the Community Shuttle posting.

And: FYI: There is a detailed list (And Survey) of major proposed service changes in the Richmond-South Delta region on the main TransLink website. www.translink.ca/ Feel free to offer your opinion if any of the changes affect you.

Hi I received call today that i passed my medical Training will be starting in June. I have question ryt now i'm on maternity leave my baby's only for 2 months. After training are they gonna allow me to stay on leave or i have to go to work??? Coz i applied for my job last year in May when i was not even pregnant. Somehow it took me to this point where's it's so hard to decide whether to leave my baby or job?

I think you will have to go back to work. You need to be available a minimum 4 days every payroll. Once you are done training you start right away.

    Hello everyone,

I applied for the full-time regular position as a Conventional Bus Driver online and I was just wondering if anyone got contacted for an interview yet? How long does it usually take? I'm feeling a bit nervous because I don't know what to expect...

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Hello! Welcome! The hiring process can takes weeks if not months to go thru the various hoops. There is a detailed list of the Hiring- recruitment process. wages and benefits, over at www.translink.ca/careers and THEN "Bus Operator Opportunities."

I went thru the process 25 years ago, and was already an employee, and it took me 4 months or so from the video test to a training class start date.

If you haven't gone back to the beginning of this thread, there may be answers to your questions further back.

Best of luck! New training classes every 2 weeks, in around 12-15 trainees per class.

You would apply internally (www.mycmbc.ca/). I think you might have to be a shuttle Op for a certain amount of time (1 year?) before being able to transfer. You would have to do the full 6 weeks Conventional training. If you are a temp and don't yet have an actual seniority number; then you would be assigned a seniority number in training for Conventional, or whenever you get "regular" status.

In my opinion: Seniority is everything here: Get that seniority number/regular status ASAP.

Shuttle drivers work out of 3 depots: Hamilton (Queensborough); Port Coquitlam & Surrey.

Conventional Ops all start in Vancouver (Marpole); Once you have enough seniority you can transfer out to suburban depots.

For me, it took almost a month before they contacted me to do their English Comprehensive and Customer Service test.

It has been a few weeks after my English Comprehensive and Customer Service test. They recently contacted me and scheduled my Panel Interview. Just wondering if anyone have any tips. Thank you!!!

It would be more accurate to say it takes weeks to months for each step of the hiring process. The whole thing is guaranteed several months if my experience is any indication.

I'm finally scheduled for the medical exam. What to expect? I've heard push ups, sit ups, pee test, blood pressure test... I'm not taking anything illegal but do they care about prescriptions?

Hi gang! Heard that the buses that do the #49 route will be moving back to Richmond as of Labour day, and that Richmond is set to get 5 double deckers to use on the hwy #99 routes in the not too distant future.

Hi. Can you still apply even if you don't currently hold a BC Commercial learner's license with the air brake endorsement? Or should you wait to pass and hold the learner's prior to applying? Are there amongst you who tried to do that and successfully got hired or even had the opprtunity to get hired? Thank you.
