I looked for an older job posting that had stated something about a standard call centre test, and a minimum passing level, but I can't find it...

    There is a test though...

They do hire 2 to 3 times a year...

I might be able to find out more info on Monday...

Over at www.coastmountainbus.com there is a CAREERS page with complete instructions on how to apply... You have to register first, and create a profile...

I believe everything is done online these days... You cannot go and apply in person at the Surrey head office anymore...

If you need help, the main phone number at Coast Mountain Bus Company is 604-953-3000, and then I guess you could ask for the HR (Human Resources) department to talk to an actual person...

If you are applying to a seperate subsidiary or contractor, (like: Translink, AirCare, SkyTrain-BC Rapid Transit Company, Canada Line- ProTransBC, Transit Police, West Coast Express, HandyDart-MVT Canadian Bus, West Vancouver Blue Buses) then I suggest getting in touch with them directly...

You have until Jan 27th to apply to the current posting... www.coastmountainbus.com/careers/

What is the Driver's License requirement?

  17. Superchecker

When Coast Mountain Bus Company is hiring/accepting applications, I believe the basic requirements are for a regular class #5 license with minimal points against it, AND also the learners (Air Brake?) endorsement for either the Class #2 - for Conventional/full sized bus, or Class #4 for Community Shuttle...
Coast Mountain Bus then t-r-a-i-n-s- you for the required license...

West Vancouver Blue Buses appear to require the class #2 license for their applicants. They are actively hiring for the summer of 2012... Google West Vancouver for their career opportunities...

I will say again: Driving is NOT the only opportunity at Transit... Many transit employees never drive a bus... Keep an eye on those various websites as opportunities come and go almost daily/weekly...

UPDATE: Opportunities come and go almost daily... You have to keep an eye on those websites, if interested.
Coast Mountain Bus Company is currently NOT accepting new applicants for driving positions. This could change at any time.
Coast Mountain Bus Company is continuing to TRAIN new drivers. Approx 14 every 2 weeks, for a yearly total approaching 300.

The district of West Vancouver is still accepting applications for "Summer 2012 Transit Operator" Opportunities...

ThirdWave school buses has been advertising for permanent part time drivers...

Cloverdale based MVT Canada/HandyDart is still accepting applications for "Para-Transit" drivers out in St Johns Newfoundland...

Other Employment Opportunities you might like to check out: CANADA POST, METROVANCOUVER, (each and every city/municipaity) city of BURNABY, city of SURREY, city of WHITE ROCK, GREAT CANADIAN CASINOS, GATEWAY CASINOS, BC FERRIES, "UBC JOBS"...

Don't just check any particular website/list once, you HAVE to check back again, and again! Many Opportunities only get posted for 5 business days!

APPLY for those seasonal/temporary Opportunities and then have access to INTERNAL POSTINGS! Move around, get "regular" status...
