Tainted water bottle sold at the PNE

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - A PNE employee was taken to hospital on Thursday after drinking a bottle of water that contained ammonium chloride.

Anna Marie D'Angelo with Vancouver Coastal Health says it appears to be an isolated incident so far. "There's been thousands of bottles of this type of water sold on and off the PNE site yesterday and there's been no other reports of illness at this time."

She says the worker was treated for dizziness and muscle weakness, but has now been released from hospital. The employee bought the bottle at a concession stand on the Fair grounds and police say they've gone through every other bottle at that concession, and none of them were tampered with.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is investigating. Meanwhile, police say they are treating this as a criminal investigation, but have not identified any suspects.

 

Does anyone know how many tickets you need to be considered a group and what is the rate?

 

The PNE is definately more expensive this year, but it is still great fun. Worth going.
