HMV is closing their dowtown and Richmond Centre stores. Kind of like Blockbusters all over again! Right now they are up to 50% off!

The downtown location is huge, it would be a perfect place for a Cheesecake Factory :) but I heard they are splitting it up into smaller units.

Wow, I got some good deals at HMV Lougheed Mall when they shut down, now another opportunity to pick up a deal...

Just a regular sale... don't expect a deal.

It is not 50% off all items.

50% only for $5 items. But there is a catch, it is not 50% off the ticketed $5 price. It is 50% off the regular price which is $7.99. For the $5 item, after the 50% discount, the price is $4.50 (don't know why it is not $4).

The $9.88 items has 30% off, after the discount, the price is $6.49.

The other DVDs are 10% off.

    The blurays are 10% off.

So it is a disappointing sale.

When HMV closes the Lougheed store, they offer a real deal because the blurays were 40% off the ticketed price (and not the regular price).

It will become harder to walk in and browse for CDs and CVDs
as one more of these types of video store closes down.

The days of walkng the aisles and just browsing or
thumbing through stacks of CDs, DVDs and maybe
CD roms are coming closer to the end.
Buying online or uploading music and videos just isn't the
same as actually holding the package in your hand and
looking it over and deciding whether to buy or not.

A previous similar store occupied the present HMV site
called, Virgin Megastore. It closed in 2005 around
    September I believe.

I believe HMV is only shutting down only 2 stores. The rest remains open.
