Just thought i'd share this warning with everyone

You've read about it being served in China. Now it has made it's way to our shores. If East One got this batch of fake rice delivered to their kitchen, how many other restaurants are serving it also??

I don't speak the language, but my friend told me that In the video, the person says that real rice will break down if you rub it together with your fingers. But the plastic rice will stay intact. An all time low for Chinese food in Vancouver.

This case in particular is at East One Seafood Restaurant on 1st and Renfrew where the TNT market is.

    Pretty shocking!

    fake:

    • eggs
    • pork disguised as beef
    • honey made from sugar syrup
    • plastic rice..sprayed with real rice fragrance
    • rat 'mutton'
    • salt and pepper made from white flour and mud
    • chemical tofu (rongalite industrial bleaching agent...extremely toxic)
    • fake wine
    • cardboard buns

I like this guys "Beyond Science" channel on youtube.
    This is his Food channel.

Can't believe how bad this situation is, but I'm not surprised.

To be fair, this is a huge country with a huge population and many of these instances probably occur in really remote and rural locations and would never make it to this country. In the larger cities where most tourists go it's probably not a problem.

I would question that, as some of these items look to be massed produced, like the eggs. How would fake rice be found here in Vancouver? It wouldn't come from a rural location. He's also warning people to be careful while travelling.

I'm still appalled on how they can manufacture and let people eat that kind of food.
