    The last movie I saw there was Starwars episode 3. It was on a sunny day.

    Why has the cinema closed ?
    We have big multi cinema`s so all the small picture houses here have closed down .

    ... not suprising considering how crappy the movies have been for a long time. the same downsizing's been happening with the video stores for years. you could see it coming when every weekend it's yet another big-budget animated children's movie being released. total overload. even james cameron, god bless him, couldn't save the movie industry with avatar. he did try though ...

    Same reason. Cineplex is the big player here, other companies can't compete. Cineplex also buys out the smaller guys (Famous Players, Cinemark Tinseltown).

    The Empire Theatre in Oakridge also closed.

    We still have the Fifth Avenue Cinemas but they show more independent/fringe films.

    At least Rio theatre is alive and they'll be showing the new James Bond movie.
