    I live in Vancouver so I wouldn't feel a 3.1 over here.

True, but I don't have a Victoria based forum to go to when I'm on the island so I share here :p. They upgraded it to a 3.3 moment magnitude EQ and re-evaluated the distance.

Sometimes we feel the odd shake from one on the island. The last one I felt over here was the Seattle one about ten years ago.

I remember that one, I missed it because my class was on a field trip to Mt. Seymour.

Only time I felt an earthquake was in late 2000 or early 2001. When there was an earthquake in Oregon. Really felt that one. I was in grade 9, in a class, in a portable. At first I thought someone was shaking the portable, then I realized it was an earthquake. It was scary.

A minor earthquake has shaken southern Vancouver Island.
The Pacific Geosciences Centre reports that the tremor, which occurred at 3:20 p.m. PT, had preliminary magnitude of 3.0 and was centred 20 kilometres west of Victoria.
The quake occurred about 25 kilometres underground, a centre spokesman said.
No injuries or damage has been reported.
