    www.protransbc.com is in need of 3 PART TIME, REGULAR STATUS, GUIDEWAY SERVICEPERSONS, Night shifts- when trains are not running...
    $31.97 hr...

    Seems like the Canada Line salaries are 'decent' enough, I always thought the Canada Line's attendant are paid lower than Translink's Skytrain's attendants.

    Canada Line/ProTransBC employees are unionized= BCGEU...

    SkyTrain/BC Rapid Transit employees are also unionized= CUPE

    Coast Mountain Bus Company employees are also unionized= Canadian Auto Workers, as well as COPE for the office workers...

    Coast Mountain Bus Company eliminated over 60 positions last fall...

    They now ship engines to Brazil for re-builds...

    What kind of positions that are eliminated? Administration or bus operators (drivers)?

    Mostly in the maintenance/mechanical end of things... They shut down the companies 2 cafeterias back last summer, and laid off approx 10 or so... Then the offered early retirement to almost all NON driving staff, and many jumped at the chance for some extra $$$... They have now contracted out the engine rebuilding that we used to do in house, so that division is all but gone... There are less mechanics, less shift supervisors, less road supervisors, less training instructors, etc...

    Wonder if the union is ok that they shut down 2 cafeterias. The staff now has no cafeteria to go to.

    Canada Line/ProTransBC has filled their positions...

    BUT SKYTRAIN IS STILL IN NEED OF OVERNIGHT GUIDEWAY SERVICEPERSONS!
    www.translink.ca and then their CAREERS page and then BCRTC....
