Top ups last for a year (365 days) and come in $25, $35, $50 and $100 denominations. They often have $25 credit bonuses when you top up $100.

Rate is $0.25/minute (previously 20 cents)

All calls within your area code are local. This is unique to 7-Eleven Speak Out.

    For British Columbia:
    604 can call 604 & 778 locally
    250 can call 250 & 778 locally
    778 can call all of BC: 778, 250, 604

The 365 days expiry for various denominations is very good. No other companies offer that.

The next part is to find a cheap phone is 7-eleven compatible.

Any unlocked phones from Bell, Rogers, Fido, Virgin, Telus, Koodo, Chatr, and Solo will work with 7-11 sim cards. They all use the same frequency bands. Only Wind Mobile and Mobilicity are different.

I have been trying to find out WHAT frequencies 7-Eleven uses (and therefore also Bell, Rogers, Fido, Virgin, Telus, Koodo, Chatr, and Solo?).

    I understand that (http://www.wilsonamplifiers.com/frequencies-by-provider/):

    Bell Mobility: CDMA+LTE. 2G/3G: 850MHz, 1900MHz,. 4G: 1700MHz

    Telus Mobility: CDMA+LTE. 2G/3G: 850MHz, 1900MHz,. 4G: 1700MHz/2100MHz

    Rogers Wireless: GSM+LTE. 2G/3G: 850MHz, 1900MHz,. 4G: 1700MHz, 2100MHz?, 2600Mhz (little used)

    Fido Wireless: GSM+LTE (owned by Rodgers). 2G/3G: 850MHz, 1900MHz,. 4G: 1700MHz, 2100MHz?, 2600Mhz (little used)

    Sasktel Mobility: CDMA. 2G/3G: 850MHz, 1900MHz

    WIND Mobile: GSM+LTE. 2G/3G: 1700MHz/2100MHz.

...so they are not identical as Telus includes 2100Mhz but Bell does not; Rogers includes 2600Mhz.

So which ones exactly does 7-Eleven use?

    Thanks in advance.

OK, so I called 7-Eleven and they use 850 and 1900 Mhz.
