Adults-only trade show cancelled in Abbotsford Tradex

Organizers of an adults-only trade show say they're cancelling a three-day event that was scheduled to take place in British Columbia's Bible belt.

The fifth annual Fraser Valley Taboo Naughty But Nice Show was to run at the Abbotsford Tradex at the end of March.

But Canwest Productions Inc. says it can't secure a roaming liquor licence from the city.
The company says the licence allows patrons to carry liquor throughout the show, instead of being restricted to a beer garden.

Organizers say they have also experienced a backlash by "Christian fundamentalists" who have accused them of harming family values.

Peter Kiddell of Canwest Productions Inc. says his company will work with its opponents and city officials so the show can return next year.

 

... why are the organizers of the event blaming city officials for the cancellation? the truth is abbotsford city officials didn't cancel the event and that fact should be acknowledged, not covered up ...

... the real reason it was cancelled? poor tickets sales, not because of city officials ...

 

Our own version of Southern USA. Also, isn't there a community in the BC interior that allows polygamy?

 

i don't buy it, the media is portraying christians as scapegoats!! the real reason for the cancellation was because they had financial difficulty and could not get a liquor license

 

I can say this they cancelled the Pet Expo for all sorts of reasons as well last year, didn't refund some of our money either!!!!
