Interesting theory but it's been dismissed by historians and Sinologists because of lack of evidence. Besides, Leif Erikson and the Vikings came to North America around 1000 AD and set up L'Anse aux Meadows in Newfoundland. Way before that, the ancestors of the indigenous people of North and South America came from Central Asia.

All kinds of distant visitors might have visited the New World prior to Christopher Columbus, but those voyages did not totally transform the Americas. Columbus' voyages did that. Don't forget his three ships: the Santa Maria, the Nina, and the PINA COLADA!

I read somewhere that a Phoenician ship might have visited the western coast of Australia long before Europeans began discovering the world.

Chinese has totally transformed their own continent without Europian's ' "visit", I belief the first nations of America could do that too if given the chance.
