What Do You Think About A ZERO POPULATION GROWTH Program?

... i think a ZERO POPULATION GROWTH program should be initiated by governments worldwide whereby it would basically be illegal to have kids. additionally, drugs that prevent people from getting pregnant should be put into use also. this would be for the purpose of wiping out the human race ...

... here's why: human life is pointless in the sense that we are nothing more than an ever-expanding organism infesting and overpopulating the planet ...

... as well, human life is filled with much pointless pain and suffering. there is no reason for people to be brought into something that involves pain. it is a violation of our civil rights to be born against our will without our consent ...

... so what do you think? agree or not?

Japan and western nations are okay. But developing countries certainly need to curtail population growth. Whenever I get appeals to donate to help in Africa, my first and blunt question is: "Are they doing all they can to curb population expansion?"

If the answer is not a resounding yes, I refuse to donate one penny even if I can afford it. I did not have my own kids because I sacrificed married life to help my Dad and brother be there for a sick mother. Like hell am I feeding children who mean nothing to me.

... thank you for your reply, Vivek ...

... for those who say every life is sacred i say no, human life is not so sacred at all. no more than bacteria or fungi. and many of those who say it is because they want to control who is born and who isn't. they are hypocrites. on the one hand they say no abortion while they wage wars overseas which kill multitudes of innocent people. and is human existence improved by having children born into lives of degradation and poverty in the slums of the world? of course not ...

I think that family planning is in order now, to avoid consuming this world, family planning can be appealing to all religions since there is a natural way in the human cycles of women to use this wisdom and put it to practice, this way you will be okay with your faith laws.
Abortion is a crime, therefore should be avoided with family planning.
We became a plague, noise by itself is killing you and you don't even notice, stress coming from noise is one cause that kills, pets and poop brings deseases, overpopulation and contamination of the environment goes together hand by hand.
your personal space, dehumanization and insolence and racism comes from and borns in big crowded cities. I can go on and on, but bottom line, the responsibility is in each individual, this must be a worldwide campaign, We the humankind should be again humans with method and understanding that with family planning will cesase to be a plague and become again the homo sapiens, so far we are behaving like animals without control searching for the supremacy of the specie but at the same time destroying ourselves.

... never leave population control up to women: they are programmed to pop children out without much consideration for anything. depopulation through the prohibition of pregnancies can only occur through a government program of sterilizing men and making women infertile ...

Not so fast mechanic, Women alone are not responsible for overpopulation, to make babies You need two, a man and a Woman, I found Your comment about Women unfair and more appealing to a misogynous. why You don't say anything about men trying to convince women to have sex and using the card of marriage? it was said by the Nun Sor Juana Inés De La Cruz "foolish men who accuse Women with no reason without seeing that You are the occasion of the same mistake You condenm"
the problem here is IGNORANCE, from both Men and Women, more educasion is needed, if You only shoot and kill this will make a mediocre solution for the problem, and Wars and killing of innocent People who want to live their lives will be terminated, like NATO is doing at this very moment.

... let's get back on topic here ...

... what is required is a program right out of a science fiction movie: a system whereby government agents go into the future and actually ask you at fifty years old "do you want to be born?" if you answer "no i don't" then your parents fifty years previously are prohibited from procreating you -- they are not allowed to conceive and give birth to you ...

... such a system seems to me to be the only means by which humans can give birth to offspring while respecting their right to DECLINE the option of life ...

I think that what you are suggesting is inhumane.

Mechanic, with all due respect, I think your proposals are anti-human and uncalled for. I love humanity! Humans are a synthesis of opposites. The soul, which is spirit, made in the image of God, is thesis. Antithesis is this body, developed by evolution from ape-similar creatures. Once incarnated in the body the soul experiences a form of amnesia. Forgetting its divine origin, it now begins behaving like the beast it is born into.

All human history since we began creating civilizations has been a struggle between Light and Darkness. Nietzsche saw this when he wrote: "I teach you the Superman. Man is a rope tied between beast and superman. The superman is the meaning of the Earth." Humanity on this planet is in its spiritual infancy. Over centuries we are overcoming our carnal, neo-ape side and evolving into a more humane and thinking species.

We arise from the slime, but journey our way back to God.

We should aim for zpg or close to it because we are running out of resources. Also the current economic model of capitalism will eventually fall apart under its own weight due to overconsumption, over production and a lack of consumers who can pay for it. This will become increasingly evident with the advent of robots which will eventually put millions of people around the world out of work.

It’s ludicrous to make so many people obsolete and yet expect the population to increase exponentially. Also western governments expect their local populations to absorb millions of refugees immigrants and give them jobs too. There won’t be enough jobs resources or money for them. Clearly this is unsustainable.

So zpg or even a slight decrease could give the world a badly needed breath of fresh air it so desperately needs

Update: Our Orange Bear president Donald Trump is rumored recently to have referred to Haiti and Africa as "shithole countries," and to have said "we need more people from places like Norway." Tinged with racism, his choice of words was tasteless. Yet I see where he is coming from. The criterion is educated versus uneducated. Uneducated people tend to have bigger families. The Earth is already burdened with too many people. No birth control? Then no help.

... the more i think about it the more pissed off i am that my parents (who i do love with all my heart) ever gave birth to me. i mean, they both love my sister more than me, i caused major problems for them. in fact, my dad ultimately ended up suing me in court in his final years. what the fuck was the point of ever bringing me into this world? humans are STUPID creatures ...

Trump wants the USA to be more like Norway but doesn’t seem to want its humane socialist welfare policies. His administration will likely end up throwing more Americans, White & Black alike off of social programs like Medicaid and welfare then into prison. Socialism is an aberration to Americans like Trump who want the cake and icing for themselves while he leaves all the crumbs for America’s poorest citizens.

Joe, Trump is a disaster who got elected by energizing the bigot vote. And you are utterly right that on our side of the border, many people treat "socialism" as if it were a bad word.

... this is very accurate. while woman are programmed to carry, give birth to, and raise babies, the MEN are the ones responsible for making the event happen ...
