Congrats! If you haven't ridden many city trolley routes, like Fri & Sat Nights on a #3, 8 or 20, I HIGHLY recommend heading out and witnessing what you might be doing in the beginning.

If any interest in riding a MORNING Richmond bus: send me a personal message and I can tell you where and when I'll be out and about.

Way to go! Savor your last few days of freedom! HAHA kidding. It's a lot of work but worth it in the end and next thing you know you're out there driving a bus! Congrats.

I too am open to ride-alongs anytime. As I holiday block, I do a large variety of work in the afternoons and evenings on various routes. I have now already driven every route out of HTC (including shuttle too!). So between Superchecker and me, we have the whole day covered lol!

    Enjoy.

    Hi Gang! Happy October!

For those who have access to the employee only website: Info about annual Flu shots; info about New employee Orientation, and link to new employees handbook; Interesting article about the late night "N" buses.

On a side note: City of Burnaby is in need of another FT Truck Driver, nearly $29hr plus benefits! I saw it over at www.civicinfo.bc.ca/careers, OR Google city of Burnaby.

Hi Gang! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Still lots of OT in Richmond, the weekends are crazy!

That new mall opened up out in Tsawwassen and it's been crazy busy! Heard of 3-4 hour waits to exit the parking lot on Saturday!

The Vacations Sign up was delayed and is starting next Monday. No sign up reliefs! If you can't be there in person, leave a choice slip with your sign up rep!

December shift sign up should start late November; times to be posted in a couple of weeks or so. Will be interesting, especially out in PoCo. New Evergreen Lin is going live, and will shake things up route wise.

AND the compressed work week is coming either Dec or April. approx 15-20% of the shifts will be the longer 4 days on-3days off kind of shifts.

On a side note: Most depots social clubs will have some sort of Christmas dinner celebrations. And the company usually offers a free catered lunch mid Dec too.

It's been quiet in here but busy out there! Darker weather, lots of traffic... Lots of training buses around lately so it still seems to be full steam ahead!

Still enjoying the new Hamilton depot even with some of the challenges on new sheets and paddles but I'm confident it will work out eventually.

Stay dry out there this weekend and watch the wind... the bus is like driving a big barn door when it's windy!

Got re-ended today! Was quite the impact! had 40 passengers, but nobody required 911/EHS.

Paper work, paper work, and a missed trip.

Be SAFE out there boys and girls!

Glad everyone is ok. Where did it happen? I HEARD a rear-ender yesterday in Richmond on #3 Road (happened right in front of me but I didn't see it, I was checking my mirror to pull into traffic) A solid thump/bang and bits and pieces all over the road.

It still amazes me that as big as we are, with all of the lights and so on, someone can still smash into the back of a bus!!

Saturday night I drove the 895,Metrotown shuttle. I had not one single passenger in my 7 hour shift!!! Traffic was horrendous on Central Blvd due to the road work and lousy weather. Was a very lonely shift, thank God for our radio!!

Crazy! Meanwhile there were dozens and dozens waiting for the #19's that were short turning into Joyce because of trees down on Kingsway.

Heard a similar story (lack of passengers) about a N Van shuttle that was set up to deal with watermain construction on/near Cap Road.

We've had several more arrive at HTC as well... one was doing some route training on my bus the other day. And yes, here too, several OT opportunities and multiple am trippers up for grabs seems like every day!

Hello everyone! Last time I said I was planning to move from Shuttle to Conventional and well... I passed the recruitment steps and I begin training on Nov 7! I'd like to thank @Superchecker, @ConventionalMan, and others who have shared their experiences on the training process here. I expect it to be an intense 6 weeks but should be fun and rewarding at the same time.
