    Hi guys,

I'll be visiting Vancouver for the first time as part of a Canada trip end of May.

Are there any nice eateries you can recommend? I am a fan of the burger, so any good burger places, give me a shout! (Is Stackhouse any good?). Also the best place for Pancakes!

Love food.... so any recommendations all round much appreciated haha :)

    Cheers,

    Steve.

Thanks very much! I will check it out... although I'm from the UK, we eat a lot of that here! ;)

Thanks for your suggestions! What about good burger places, know any?

    Cheers.

Prepare to be disappointed-this city is very Asian and all the best food is Asian what you're after is around but is nothing special

You can always Google best burgers in Vancouver.

We have a number of White Spot and Triple O's locations which offer up decent burgers with their signature Triple O sauce. There are a number of good pub type restaurants and casinos that offer up great burgers.

I always liked Frank Baker's over in West Van, the Three Green Horns downtown is good, and the Bavarian Room on Broadway serves a great Jagr Schnitzel. For fish I recommend, The Only in Gastown and for Chinese I recommend the On On Tea Garden on Keefer and the Di Kie on Main.

    Good eating!

What is the purpose of posting recommendations for places that have been gone for 25-30 years?

    Are you being 'ironic'?

I used to eat at these places. I am more of a shut in now that I am retired. Is the Frying Dutchman still around?

Haha that's ashame, all sounds good! Thanks for the suggestions :) Stackhouse Burger seems pretty decent... and I hear of a new bar opening where the Mill Marine Bistro used to be? I quite fancy trying that out too.

There is a great short film that reviews 24 restaurants in 24 hours called the day of gluttony, it has all the best places to eat out in Vancouver. A few of the restaurants have closed down now but it gives you an idea of the food available in the city and a short review of the restaurant check out the movie here http://tikki-tikki.com/good-places-to-eat-in-vancouver/

Everyone’s almost suggested all the good places around. Just thought I’d drop by and put my two cents in.

I’ve lived in Vancouver almost all my life and can vouch for most of the places on this list! Some are quite exceptional too especially when it comes to customer service and ambience. Many places that people have suggested on this list are fancy dine outs and is fit for a large group of people. If you’re into trying some good Pizza’s, I’d say check out this place here called Freshslice Pizza. They have quite a few outlets though I usually just order from the one near my place as it’s just very convenient! Haha. They have quite a good choice on the menu that you can select from especially the pepperoni feast, super veggie feast, super combo feast and all meat feast. Also, get a butter chicken feast. I know it sounds weird, but it's fricking awesome.
