So the craze and huge line ups have probably died down by now and I hear that many stores have been getting in daily shipments.

What time is best for lining up and at which location?

For those wondering, this information isn't for me. I would personally get one of the Samsung Galaxy S variants. :p

Update: seems like most people have gotten their's so if you wake up early you should be able to get one. The Apple store at Pacific Centre has gotten a shipment daily for the past 8 days or something.

    6am at PC lol.

Oakridge has low stock and tends to have a longer line up. Guyfriend snagged one, personally I'm a blackberry person.

Just completed a call with Fido. Told them my handset (samsung jack) was behaving erratically (true story), and I've had no success getting a replacement handset (iphone4) at local Fido stores, but Telus store has them in stock, so I may terminate my CityFido contract and go back to Telus, to get the iphone4 handset. After confirming I was looking to switch based on handset selection, also I was long term customer with Fido, etc. I was transferred to retentions. Confirmed same intentions with them, and they wanted specifically to know which handset I needed (16 or 32GB). After a short hold, the CSR confirmed they have both in stock with retentions, so I took the 16GB (don't think I'll need more), asked about data plan specials and was given 6GB for $30, and also asked about the "over $25 plan" renewal FidoRewards credit, and was given $50 credit which will automatically be applied within 45 days. My CityFido is on the old "local" area, so I am good from Point Grey to Hope, renewed for 3 more years!

    Sweet! :D

Yup tons of stock now, but if you get it by dialing Rogers, you'll have to wait 3 weeks for it to ship to you.

A friend owns a fido retailer and he told me that he have lots of stocks lalely too. I believe the White one is coming out and Apple is going to play the same game with the white one. I'll wait patiently for a white one!

iPhone 5 rumours now, way to go Apple.

"Wow, we really screwed up with the iPhone 4, we better release something quick or get toppled by Android."

Too bad their plan will actually work because consumers have short term memory. ;)

I'm a text+call person lol. No need for a smartphone if I'm on campus 24/7 with my laptop...and netbook.
Any ways, yeah there's plenty of stock at the Apple stores.

I've placed my order through Rogers; 3 weeks for delivery :(

The white one is not going to be out until the next quarter (January 2011), however, there is a New York Times posting which advises that apple is having a difficult time producing the white versions. I know, it seems bizarre as they have created the 3GS in white... maybe its a marketing ploy?

If you go through your carrier, there are still long wait lists. So the best place is still any of the Apple stores. Most people that wanted one have already gotten it so it shouldn't be too hard. Although... Apple recently announced delayed the white iPhone 4 until spring (ie: after the holidays), so all of the people holding out for the white one might start going for the black version.

I haven't checked how bad the line ups are but on some days people are getting one just by going in the afternoon (if you're buying without contract). It still puzzles me how the phone is so popular despite all of its shortcomings.

^For unlocked, get it at the Apple Store, there are two locations in malls that have skytrain or canada line stations next to them. I think if you want unlocked, you should be able to get one easily.

    iPhone 4 is $659.00 for 16GB and $779.00 for 32GB
iPad is $549.00 for 16 GB, $649.00 for 32 GB and $749 for 64 GB

    Apple Store, Oakridge Centre
    650 West 41st Avenue
    Vancouver, British Columbia V5Z 2M9

    Apple Store, Pacific Centre
    701 West Georgia Street
