Appropriate or Inappropriate?

So I went to the doctor's recently. While sitting in the waiting area with other patients I notice that a man decides to take his flip flop off and place his bare foot on the table. Personally I thought it was an inappropriate thing to do in public. What do you think? Does anyone have any other examples of behaviours that they feel are inappropriate to do in a public setting?

Gross. Make sure you tell the doctor that the table need to be sanitized.

I wouldn't do that in real life. But I might do that behind the safety of a computer screen, if I had a home computer.

In general, I would say that taking off one's shoes and resting one's bare feet on a coffee table in public like that is pretty crass and low class. (I would even go so far as to say that about the fashion faux pas of wearing flip-flops in public outside of an appropriate setting like a beach or patio.)

However, I would cut this particular person some slack given that his foot is clearly injured, he's waiting in a doctor's office, and as such it's entirely possible that removing his shoes and raising his legs like that is alleviating his pain somewhat.

I moreover completely agree that this table should have been sanitised shortly after he left as well.

If his reasons were medical rather than casual, it is forgivable.

Agreed. But to be honest, it really didn't seem like it was medical related. I could be wrong though.
