    • Offensive, Racism
On Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at approximately 8:45pm, I was crossing at the intersection of Shelbourne Street and Hillside Avenue in Victoria, BC, when some Arab or East Indian (removed) in a yellow cab made a dangerous left turn and nearly run me over.

It really makes me think about which races we should allow into this country and which ones we shouldn't.

As this is your third offensive post, be aware that another warning will result in a ban. Take the racism to memebee.

... uh, forum vancouver, it's not acceptable to use the "n" word in the title of a thread. it's extremely offensive, it turns people away from your site, and it leads people to believe you're operating a racist hate site ...

Thank you. I can understand his outrage at a reckless motorist. But did the OP contact the police? If he wants to defecate, Forum Vancouver is not a toilet for filthy terms.

As I mentioned already, on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, some Arab/East Indian taxi driver tried to run me over at the intersection of Hillside and Shelbourne in Victoria, BC -- then I went to the internet cafe to complain about it on Twitter and a few forums, and I was in such distress that I left my black baseball cap here. Today, Friday, October 12, 2012, I have returned to the internet cafe, and the Chinese guy behind the counter claims that I did not leave a black baseball cap here. What a jerk and a thief. A Chinese thief -- who would have thought?

Can you tell the difference between a black and arab/east indian?

20-12, you need to take a few deep breaths. Have you gone to the police about the guy trying to run you over? I can understand the anger; I'd feel just the same. But instead of just frothing on this forum, please tell us what practical retaliation you are using.

Which "races" you should let into "your" country? Maybe the First Nations should send you back to Europe. I perfectly sympathize with you regards what was done to you. But....let's get this. Instead of going to the police, you "went to the internet cafe to complain?!" Well hello, El Stupido, do you expect netizens to find and arrest the miscreants?

My father once said that sometimes, a worthy complaint can be destroyed by wrongful arguments and remarks. Boy, are you an illustration of that!

No one seems to have asked but maybe the author ignored the "do not cross" lights :)

Let me respond to everyone's posts in a civil matter...

    Admin -- thank you :)
Henry -- your post isn't too constructive either.
Vivek -- My father's mother's father's mother (my great-great-grandmother) was First Nations, therefore I am too.
Shrek -- that is not true. It was my turn to cross the street, and the taxi driver ignored the red light for left turn drivers.
Joe -- i will do just that... if I have something racist to say I'll say it on Memebee and not here :)

20-15, you have a right to express any bigoted views you like. So long as your personal conduct is not out of line, no-one has any right to expect anyone to apologize for their opinions. However, having a trace of First Nations blood does not make you one. Great-great grandmother.....that's one-sixteenth. I have a certain amount of Graeco-Macedonian blood tracing back to Alexander the Great's occupation of parts of the Indian subcontinent. If I landed at Athens airport and tried to use that to justify entry, they would laugh my pants off.
