I am considering joining the Catholic faith

Admittedly, I've become disillusioned with how our secular society has evolved.

It doesn't seem to stand for anything anymore, offers men nothing and is taking everything away from them and what little they have left.

And the growth of Islam scares me. I couldn't imagine being part of a faith which forces many of its female followers to put scarves over their heads or blankets over their faces and deprives men the pleasure of at least looking at, or having contact with them. Although I have some decent secular Muslim friends who are not at all like that, it's the extreme and militant element I find very scary which taking over that religion, and forcing its more moderate members to conform to such ideals.

So what you have to choose from now is either something like an alpha male militant Islam or our society which is increasingly being run by equally militant feminists and gay rights activists.

So how does a person in the center win? While I realize it's flawed, the only reason that Catholicism is beginning to appeal to me, is that it might allow me to molest little boys. I have very little faith in our society and the people in power who run it. Not terribly fond of these radical alternatives.

I've even considering moving to Catholic nation where at least a minimum of tradition and normalcy is observed. Anyways, it's just an idea, just looking into it.

Yes, our western "culture" of consumerism is increasingly empty so I fully understand the need for something real. But there's no sex unless you're married, no divorce and no birth control allowed, even for married couples. Just some things to consider.

That being said, Ive had some amazing experiences during Catholic Mass. Very powerful and moving. Im sure Ive been Catholic in past lives...

Wow, this seemed like a genuine post until you wrote:

No predators on the boards !!!

I reported the post and the poster to the moderator two days ago but so far the post is still here. i don't know if this member has been warned, banned or what. As far as the poster's name, i do believe that anyone can post as a guest and pick any name they want so dont presume that all the posts by Joe are the same person. The security is lax here. I dont think people should be allowed to post unless they apply for membership.

I wrote "this particular "JOE"" because I did indeed notice that these threads were posted by a guest who calls himself JOE, who isn't to be confused with an actual full fledged member named Joe as another thread explicitly states. (It's also worth noting that JOE's Golden Retriever thread was a parody of a post Joe made on the memebee forum, which together with this other thread suggests that this guest is logging in as "JOE" to mimic-and-mock the actual member Joe.)

I agree with flutterby about not letting people post as random guests. Although I actually do generally prefer a fun, lax, laissez faire approach to a forum: it's a bit much to let non-member guests post such trolling drivel, especially using a name that's (nearly) identical to an actual member's username. That's just not cool, and even if, hypothetically, Joe wasn't too bothered by it: I've seen forums be absolutely ruined, to the point of unreadability, by letting such things get too out-of-hand.

    Hi everyone,

We are no longer approving parody posts from J0E. I am in contact with the real @Joe for his thoughts on the matter.

Guests posters make up a significant portion of our visitors. It has always been our goal to have low barriers to posting. All guest posts are screened and manually approved by a moderator. Also, guest posters are not able to use a name that is already registered. In this case, the guest(s) J0E used a zero instead of an O.

Our apologies for letting these posts slip past us. The original posts were posted on another forum and the real @Joe had not been active for a while.

Thank you for the feedback and being apart of our community!

You are actually stating your intentions to molest children, You should be aprehended and put away for a long time.
You are here to slander the Catholic Church, who in turn is being abused by You and other faiths sending pariahs like You and those who pose like Catholic Priests to infiltrate this institution and slander as a whole not only the Catholic Church but Catholic Families, If You want to molest kids as You stated You can go and play Hockey, You might be lucky and will end abused, the problem will be to erase the smile out of Your face for a long time.
or You can look in the list of child molesters like the following:
Sordid statistics from 2013 || Australian-Jewish community rocked and shocked by ongoing abuse scandals

It was an annus horribilis for the Orthodox communities of Sydney and Melbourne, with Chabad reeling from a spate of sexual abuse cases and accusations that it turned a blind eye to the molestation of Jewish children.

I have great respect for the Catholic Church even though I disagree with many of their teachings. They do so much for the benefit of poor people and for education. My brother and I were educated in Port of Spain, Trinidad by the Holy Ghost Fathers at Saint Mary's College, aka CIC. Mother Theresa did so much for the poor of India that at her funeral, the Indian government used the same wooden cart that had been used in the funeral of Mahatma Gandhi.

When evangelicals or Jehovah's Witnesses come pestering me to convert, I let them have it. I purposely say insulting and blasphemous things designed to be so shocking that that person cannot even bear the sight of me. But when Christian objects of a Catholic nature enter my house, my attitude becomes: "That thing is my guest." Not what I myself believe, but to be treated with welcoming politeness. Just as I would treat Jewish objects politely.

Note the comments that follow the original post: This was a rather poor attempt at humour by someone named "J0E" who would take posts from another forum written by a different user named "Joe," alter them to be fairly lame parodies, and then post them here. These posts are not to be taken seriously and moreover the Forum Vancouver Administrator posted a comment above stating that such posts by "J0E" will not be accepted here in the future.
