... have you ever seen a mixed race couple and thought: "that just doesn't look right to me"? and in most races marrying the same color is standard practice ...

... would YOU marry outside of your own race? i wouldn't ...

... opinions on this? is this a taboo subject? is it racist to expect people to marry in their own race?

What is indeed wrong is to put your nose into other people's lives. Whom I date or marry is none of anyone *!!* business. On a couple of occasions, when someone has dared to give me unwanted advice on that, I have given them such a verbal bitch-slapping that they felt as if I had ripped off their underwear in public.

... lol. thanks for your reply, Vivek. and i agree, what we do in our privates lives is our own business ...

... but keep in mind, i'm not suggesting that the ethnicity of a couple IS anyone's business, i'm just wondering what people's internal feelings are about mixed-race relationships on a general, personal level. would you enter into one yourself for instance ...

... thanks again for your reply ...

People's feelings depend on their mentality. Old-fashioned bigots would be angry at the sight of such a couple whereas enlightened persons would barely notice the fact. As for myself, all my relationships are interracial. I have not had an East Indian love interest since my early twenties.

You know nothing about this couple other than their race. How could you reasonably make a judgement on whether or not this couple should be together. If you see a couple of the same race together, how could you reasonably make a judgement that this particular couple should be together where as the mix raced couple should not? You go down a dangerous slope as these comments start to sound like you question their right to exist together when they probably have no impact on your life other than the fact that you saw them.

... i'm not saying it would be a reasonable judgment by any means, Stuntman. it would be entirely superficial and based on race/skin color/ethnicity; on how the couple looked together ...

... thank you for your reply ....

Umm.....YEA. I can't believe I even read something like this in 2014. Not only is it inappropriate, quite frankly its none of your business who someone else decides to marry. That includes one of your own children if they decide to go that route. Skin is skin. There are differences in culture between the races but we are all functionally the same species and its high time we get on with an acceptance of that. Who would have thought that Canada would still have a problem like this?

... thanks for your replies. one of the great things about canada is that it's a free country and people are allowed to have different, and difficult, opinions about many things ...
