Things I should see and do when I visit?

Discussion in 'Welcome Lounge' started by Samantha Glover, May 13, 2014.

  1. Hi, just thought I'd ask for some opinions on great things to see and do in Vancouver. I will be there for 5 days at the beginning of September and I'm trying to plan a few things. Thank you in advance for any help.

Hello! Tons of stuff to see and do in Greater Vancouver....

Stanley Park, Queen Elizabeth Park, Granville Island, Gastown, Robson Street, Wreck Beach (Clothing optional?), Grouse Mountain, Capilano fish hatchery, Cleveland Dam,, Lynn Valley Suspension Bridge, Horseshoe Bay... Deep Cove... Steveston... Weekend Night Markets in Richmond and Chinatown....

A day trip up to Whistler? Or over to Victoria?

If you have any Public Transit questions: I am the guy to ask!

    Where are you coming from??

If flying into Vancouver- YVR, The Canada Line (SkyTrain) whips you downtown in like 20 minutes....
Passengers using cash or debit out at YVR are charged the $5 SURCHARGE, But you can beat that $5 surcharge by popping into the 7-11 or Pharmasave out at YVR, and buy either DayPasses or books of 10 FareSavers....

If you wanted to splurge: The day long round trip train ride up to Whistler is a real treat!

    Google "Whistler Mountaineer" if interested...
Roughly a 2.5 hour train ride up to Whistler, then a couple of hours or so for lunch up in Whistler, and then 2.5 hour train trip back to North Vancouver....
