Idiots riding the Skytrain must have a seat

Every morning, there are idiots who either board the skytrain at King George Station on the opposite platform or from Surrey Central going Eastbound so that they can beat everyone else to getting a seat. Why can't they be forced to exit the train and board on the proper side like everyone else? Do they think that no one notices this?

Your situation could be greatly improved by 'getting a life'.

Improved but not completely solved in truth there is little hope for that.

... thank you very much for bringing this to our attention, Elmware ...

... getting onto the skytrain should be a fair process for all the passengers. unfortunately though, a lot of things the bc government gets involved with are grossly unfair, so this situation isn't all that surprising ...

... thanks again for posting ...

Hi, I recognize elmware from a Facebook group. I know that everybody wants a sit but it is the way it is.

... "it is the way it is" just doesn't cut it as a justification for totally unfair implementation of government services. in case you aren't aware, we have civil rights and are entitled to have those civil rights observed by the crown. you'd never hear of a private company acting in such a deplorable way ...

It may be the way it is, but as the SkyTrain enters King George Station, there is an announcement right after "The next station is King George ... Terminate station." which goes to say "Would all passengers please leave the train at King George Station." They do the same for Waterfront, and VCC Clark. You are supposed to leave the train, but nobody enforces this.

It would be funny if they decided to park the train all day on the other side just outside the station and a bunch of people were still on board, just because they wanted to get a seat. It's probably never happen though, because they would have announced that the train is being taken out of service and the SkyTrain staff would make sure that everyone did get off the train.

Oic now i see what you're saying Elm. Your post was poorly described but now i get it. You're saying that people get on the train before it turns around at the endpoint, and stay on it as it turns around to get a seat before it makes its first stop in the other direction.

    Interesting....

And Mechanic, why would you like Bill's nasty, dismissive post on the one hand, and then defend Elm's argument in your post? Talk about playing both sides......

Ah Public transportation......an infinite source of fodder for heated debate. See how the Brits did it. Yes transit culture. We need our own skytrain series....!

... hi flutterby. just to let you know, my "liking" a post doesn't necessarily mean i agree with the comments made by the poster. when i "like" a post i'm simply thanking the poster for contributing to this forum ...

... truth be told, flutterby, i'm extremely surprised that you'd criticize me for encouraging people to post on this forum. i don't get why my "liking" someone's contribution would be an issue for you or anyone else ...
