Hello Vancouver! (Victoria born myself, currently in Toronto.) But thought some here might be interested? Hope so, anyway.

A petition has been launched to implement a ZERO EMISSION LAW in the province of Quebec.

In order to meet health based air quality standards and greenhouse gas emission reduction goals, the state of California adopted the Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Program. Such a law forces the automakers to offer a minimum quantity of electric vehicles. Seven other states adopted the same type of program.

No such laws are in place anywhere in Canada. Automakers are selling very small quantities of EVs in Canada. The Chevrolet Spark EV, Honda Fit EV, Fiat 500e and Toyota RAV4 EV are not for sale anywhere in Canada. The automakers are NOT TRYING TO SELL electric vehicles. There is no publicity on television, radio or newspapers. There are no EV available either in dealerships’ parking lots.

By March 3rd 2014, over 50 000 signatures are required for the petition to be accepted by the government. Failing to obtain this goal will send the opposite message.

The signature from any citizen around the world is allowed and accepted.
