I clicked on the first link. It was scary. These hauntings are spooky.

After graduating from UBC, I spent a few weeks backpacking across BC. On my last camping trip, I hopped on the ferry to Vancouver Island and took the first bus I could find that would take me somewhere far. I spent the next few days hiking until I found a nice spot to set up camp and photograph. To put this in perspective, I was in the middle of fucking nowhere. The nearest town (Gold River, BC) was a 3 hour drive away and the entire time I was there, I didn't see anybody else.

I brought a few disposable cameras with me, as this was before digital cameras were widespread. When I got home, I had them developed and took a look at them. The pictures were standard nature shots until I got about halfway through my first camera. There were 2 pictures of me, asleep in my tent, in my sleeping bag. I literally freaked out when I saw it, and had a complete breakdown. To this day, I have no idea how those pictures got taken. I haven't been camping since, and I sleep with my door locked and my curtains shut.

A wondering spirit must have taken them.

I was taking the SkyTrain home one night after a closing shift. I was working as a line cook at one of the Cactus Clubs at the time.

I got on the train at Commercial/Broadway, which happened to be where most people get off. The only other person on the train was a lady wearing First Nation clothes sitting on the other end of the train. 5 minutes into my ride, she starts laughing, loud enough that it was creeping me out.

I tried ignoring her by listening to some music, but my brain tuned out of the music and fixated on her cackling. Eventually I just unplugged the music and sat back, trying not to shit my pants.

The train stopped several meters short of the next station, which is not unusual by any means. Suddenly, the power cut out and the train was pitch black. She stopped laughing.

When the lights came back on about 3 seconds later, she was sitting in the seat right in front me. Staring at me. Not making a single sound, not even a blink. Just staring with a stern sad look.

The second the train reached the station, I bolted the fuck out the door and took a cab home.

There is a story about a ghost lady in a white dress that appears around SW Marine and 41st Avenue on the way to UBC. Anyone know how it goes?

The story is that in the 1960s, a couple got into an argument while driving on University Boulevard to the main library. The woman got out of the car and started walking in the rain but was killed by a passing car.

You'll see her in a white dress standing by the side of the road around 16th avenue. Only while it's raining. Sometimes she'll refuse rides but other times she'll hand you a piece of paper with the library's address on it. It's rumoured that she's the same lady that haunts the library itself.
