    Big surprise........NOT!

"National Patriots' Day (French: Journée nationale des patriotes) is a statutory holiday observed annually in the Canadian province of Quebec, on the Monday preceding 25 May.[1][2][3] The holiday was instated by the Lieutenant Governor of Quebec-in-Council in 2003, according to the then Premier of QuebecBernard Landry: "to underline the importance of the struggle of the patriots of 1837–1838 for the national recognition of our people, for its political liberty and to obtain a democratic system of government."[4] Before 2003, the Monday preceding 25 May of each year was unofficially the Fête de Dollard, a commemoration initiated in the 1920s to coincide with Victoria Day, a federal holiday occurring annually on the same date."

Just a suggestion. Why don't you replace Queen Elizabeth as your monarch by choosing a Canadian woman to be your queen? Just as the Vatican has a succession of popes, or the United States Supreme Court has lifetime justices, you could confirm a new monarch after the previous one either dies or resigns. Instead of a hereditary monarchy, the Canadian figurehead monarch would be chosen for character, contributions and character. Confirmed by Parliament.

Someone, for example, like Professor Catherine MacKinnon. Just an idea.

I publish a retraction of a mistake. I thought Catherine Mackinnon was Canadian. In fact, she is American and therefore a wrong example.
