I've been hearing really good things about Jethro's Fine Grub. http://www.jethrosfinegrub.com/

I haven't headed out there personally since it's a bit far (on Dunbar, near UBC on the west side of Vancouver). Where area are you staying?

Kings' Cafe on Hastings, near Nanaimo. Hotcakes for $1.99, add another dollar for sausages or bacon or ham! It's a small family owned restaurant, and sometimes the quality can be a bit.. compromised when it's busy. Lots of regulars order the hotcakes though!

My kids love De Dutch on Oak and 16th. I'm not a huge pancake fan, but there are lots of other things to choose from.

You've got to go to LeBeau Patisserie on Burrard and 3rd. It is an exceptional place for Belgian waffles. (way better than pancakes).
