I never specified Zimbardo or Milgram's studies, even though they are significant and very popular. If I was referring to anything individually, it would be Lee's studies on group polarization as well as the bystander effect and the case of Kitty Genovese. Also, I never said that rioting behaviour is completely excusable. Don't make a strawman argument out of this.

Please help in IDing this young female rioter.

The damage happened to the Blenz Coffee on Georgia and Richards at 8.55pm on the night of the riot. The young woman was wearing a light blue t-shirt inside of a black leather jacket with blue jeans. Although she wasn't the only one who vandalized the coffee shop, she threw a projectile to one of the window pains and helped shatter it.

I don't know who this person is and my inquiries on my twitter account have produced no positive ID. However, she indeed participated in this destruction; she was not an innocent bystander. I saw with my own eyes the damage she caused. Luckily I caught a couple of photos of her throwing the object at the store and laughing about it right after.

Please help our city by producing a positive ID.

    Thanks.

yes, he should. there are many people that would gladly accept his scholarship to UBC that are very deserving and would never participate like he did

cheeseshredder please remove my name from your posts. i have never been to vancouver. apparently there isnt even an ikea downtown where the riots occured. I live in the states and only said that to get a rise out of people, but someone looked up my directory info and started leaving threatening phone calls to my house and family. I am not mad. just creeped out. Maybe the joke was in poor taste but you can agree that my family shouldnt feel threatened for this joke.

^Done. Hope you realize trolling has its consequences. Again, anyone making death threats are worse than most of the rioters. Think about the hypocrisy of what you're doing.

If you watched the CBC livestream while the riot was going on, you might recall this guy taunting a firefighter who showed great restraint.

Read over at Straight.com that ICBC has offered facial-recognition technology to help with the riot investigation. Hope this'll help catch a lot of the troublemakers.

Actually it was a VERY SMALL Group of people who started this, MOST of the youth were disgusted and enraged with all of this and MOST of the youth like myself were downtown Thursday Morning after the Riot cleaning the streets. Look up the Apology wall and do some research before you generalize all of us due to One event caused buy a Few people who took advantage of a sad city.

Does no one see that these riots are a sign of our populations relative happyness..we are over taxed and bullied by our government...and now we are turning in our neighbours and stepping away from a comunity...dont get me wrong ..these people should be punished...If i was a young adult in these times, tired of hearing ...we cant aford for u to play hockey ...we cant afford to buy u that new car....ect..ect...as i have to tell my sons.....i would be breakin windows and turnin cars to.....So please someone lay some blame on our leaders....they want sheeple ...and it looks like they have them..this is the beginning of the split of our classes....funny how realworld follows movie scripts...just my thoughts.....K

Tim Kwong can shove his apology up his ass. As long as he leaves room for his new cell mate's (removed).
