I find it totally depends on the bus... for whatever reason the BTC Novas seem less grabby to me... could be I'm just used to it now lol. Some of the older diesel artics can be a handful at times. And even though they're generally slower, I prefer all the hybrids for their smooth starting and stopping.

    Oh and on that note...

I got to drive one of the new XDE60 artics yesterday on my 135! Talk about smooth and quiet! Many of my passengers were commenting how smooth and peaceful the ride was.

They loved it! Now, if they could just replace the rest of the old noisy beasts...

    Hi Rony,

For me it took 3 days from interview to get the call.
Things are running fast at HR....Training department needs lots of people.

Speaking of Nova buses, I was wondering why do some of them (usually the ones from VTC) make a loud noise at the rear doors whenever someone tries to open them to exit? I see a similar design (push on the bars to open) on New Flyers and they don't make the same noise or even any noise.

Hey Superchecker and conventionalman ... thanks a lot for your reply

I am new to this country 10 months old but have 12 years of customer service experience and currently working with a bank AS a FSR.
SO trying to get into where I have a stable job and good benefits as I have a family.

Depends on the noise you mean. The loud hiss is the air operated door system. Some of the New Flyers have electrically operated doors that are much quieter.

If you are referring to the loud beeping or ringing bell that sometimes happens, it is because someone is trying to open the door before it is unlocked. Please wait til the bus comes to a complete stop before trying to exit folks! lol

I was given a verbal offer, but I am wondering how long it usually takes for the written offer to arrive? Its been about a week and so far nothing yet.

I was verbally offered today as well. I was told to expect a call Monday or Tuesday for an "official" offer and then to expect paperwork via email shortly after. Did they give you a training date ?

    Update:

Can't believe that I'll graduate next week. Nervous about being on my own :S but I'm feeling more confident after 6 days of line training.

    Practice; Practice; Practice.

Shit WILL happen; it's just your training, and personality, on how you will deal with it. TCOMM doesn't need to know *everything*... But are there when needed.

Plus, most buses now have cameras anyways; Just "tag" the video whenever you feel the need. Document important issues. Get the appropriate departments out there if applicable.

    Thanks!

Right now my main thing to improve is coming and leaving the bus stop...I need to be more consistent....Sometimes is good and sometimes I leave a gap!
