It was great seeing a trolley doing training revenue service a few days ago doing the 41 route!

In case anyone's interested, some of the new coaches have rolled out in Burnaby today. Nice shiny new artics like the ones in Surrey last month. I'm driving the 135 afternoons for the rest of the week... here's hoping there's a shiny new toy for me to play with later!

Seems like I'll be getting the 2013 artics on my #620 too.

FYI: I few new Office type jobs have been added by TransLink and Transit Police. www.translink.ca/careers/ as well as clicking onto Transit Police too.

    Update:

Today was my second line-instruction day... Everything is going very well....can't wait to be on my own. Today's instructor Danny... is a very nice guy!
I heard that one of my classmates couldn't handle the trolleys...didn't pass the training. :(

....I prefer the diesel buses!! ....trolleys not that much :S

Hey everyone! I finally received an email from HR asking to send him my ICBC documents again. Hopefully this means I'll start training soon... Fingers crossed. Thank god I have a job already in the mean time otherwise I'd be snookered! Lol

I try to stay away from the Nova's as much as possible.

Every time I'm pulling into a bus stop, it feels in yanking on an angry pit bull with a leash. Especially the ones with the vehicle number 96XX and up. 9550 and up I can tolerate those as the retarders are not as crazy.

Unfortunately for my next sheet that I signed, 75% of my work is diesel.

Yeah! Best of luck! If you haven't gone out and ridden any shuttle routes, that wouldn't hurt to do so. Some Ops are more talkative than others.

    Welcome! Best of Luck!

There is no concrete timeline, but generally it can take a week or two, or three, between each hoop you have to go thru.
Some go from application to training in as little as about 3 months; others wait closer to 6 months or even longer.

Training classes for Conventional run every 2 weeks, with roughly a dozen in each class. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

If you haven't ridden any city trolley routes, it used to be highly recommended to go out on a Fri or Sat night and ride a #3 or 8 or 20.

Yes as recommended before my interview i took ride on route 10 an 20 for couple of hours and even they asked me in interview that whether i took the ride.
My concern is i have seen in the forum that those people who got selected got reply same day but i haven't one day passed.
I am working in a bank. They told me i will get reply within a week.

I wouldn't be overly concerned. It's all about how soon they need trainees for training.

Things can go rather slow at Transit and then all of a sudden: You have a training date!

I went thru the process nearly 25 years ago now, and it took me 4 months, and I was already an employee here!

I can attest to that... I too was already employed by the company, as a driver even (shuttle), and I waited 6 months for conventional training to open up.

    Hang in there! And welcome!

I'm with you on that one lol.

You will find that once you're out on your own you'll become more relaxed. Something about not having someone peering over your shoulder all the time!
