they've raised their rates but their service has gotten worse. I will try the other companies in Point Roberts.

    this is on their website
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY FRIDAY NOVEMBER 30TH WE WILL BE REFUSING ALL DELIVERIES ADDRESSED TO OUR FACILITY. WE APOLOGIZE FOR THIS BUT THERE IS NO MORE ROOM TO TAKE PACKAGES WITHOUT BEING IN VIOLATION OF STATE FIRE CODES. ANY PACKAGES THAT ARE CURRENTLY IN ROUTE WILL BE RETURNED TO THE SHIPPER. WE ARE 3 DAYS BEHIND ON PROCESSING WHAT WE HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED. PLEASE TAKE THIS INTO CONSIDERATION WHEN PICKING UP WE WILL UPDATE OUR SITE ONCE YOU CAN BEGIN USING OUR FACILITY AGAIN AND ONCE AGAIN WE APOLOGIZE FOR TAKING THIS FIRST TIME EVER ACTION

    very unprofessional .

Sounds fair to me. They don't have enough room for more packages.

They should have known. It's not the letter carrier's fault. Maybe they can store your packages outside in the rain.

NoGS, they didn't give advance warning so customers wouldn't have had a way of knowing beforehand. They just decided to start refusing packages last minute. Giving a day's notice is insufficient when you've already ordered your item 2 weeks ago.

It is totally unprofessional. They should have anticipated the capacity issues and made an announcement at least a few weeks in advance.

I used to use TLC have since switched when they raised their prices. They were also very difficult to deal with when I needed to have a package refused over an eBay dispute. In the end, I had to contact UPS and they took care of it for me. TLC also sent me a delivery notice via email for somebody else's package (same name).

Here is the notice on their website. Sounds like they're going to piss off a lot of people.

They just lost a customer. I managed to re-route some of my packages to another receiver... For my other packages, hopefully Amazon will refund them.

Losing a few whiny costumers for the busy holidays, boohoo. People should have shipped stuff two months ago. You knew late November and the month of December was going to be busy.

I have been picking up TEN to TWENTY packages at TLC every two weeks since April /12 - they recognize my name and my face. I was just there 2 days before the American Thanksgiving doing a smaller pick up run, and they did NOT post any warning on the door.
Went down to pick up on Dec 1st, still nothing on the door - i thought it weird that an ETA Nov 30 package wasn't there but didn't think much of it, until i got home and checked their home page for rates (I'm expecting a large box coming in)

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. now that Nov 30 package has been refused by them twice, and I called UPS but they're unable to reroute it. Merchant said can't reroute it either, so it will just be refunded. Sadly. I would rather pay to keep this item than to get a refund :-(

The other items that are on their way is still up in the air. UPS is totally unhelpful - says the receiver usually don't have the right to reroute. If anyone has any tips on how to get things rerouted, i'm all ears!!

so yeah, i might be a "whiny" customer whom they won't care losing, but i'm definitely moving off my $100-$150 per month elsewhere. Very unprofessional to not even bother to email people on their mailing list about it.... I wouldn't have found out until I looked at their home page. Not even a note on their door?!

you are a fucking idiot  i shipped my item a month ago and it's due to arrive now. do you work for them or something?

they basically put up a fucking notice on their website day of and said "ok that's it, we're not taking anymore". they saw it coming but didn't warn their customers. fuck them. i've been using them for over a decade and that was a slap in the face. it shows they don't give a shit about their customers.

It's not just a "few whiny" customers, they pissed their entire customer base off and the anger is definitely justified. Out of all the forums that I've been to, NoGS, you're the only one that finds this reasonable. They totally shit the bed with how they handled this and I wouldn't be surprised if it's their downfall.

They could have avoided this by:
    1. Warning customers SUFFICIENTLY AHEAD OF TIME that they are filling up and might be refusing packages, not the day of when packages have been sent weeks ago. They should also post a physical sign and email their customers rather than website notice which many people will undoubtedly miss.
    2. Enforcing their extended storage policies more strictly during the holidays to free up space.
    3. Better anticipating storage room for the holiday season so they can do #1.
    4. Renting a temporary space to store extra packages

I don't understand why they can't go with number 4 at this point (too cheap and too short-sighted? lack of concern for their customers? all of the above?). They'll likely break even and not lose their customers.

For the future, there are a lot of other shipping companies available in PR. I personally use the PR Shell Station there but there's also TSB, Point to Point Parcel (P2P). Their grocery store (International Market Place) also has a package receiving service as well if I recall correctly.

Here's a thread where I listed a bunch of these package receiving businesses: http://www.forumvancouver.com/threa...resses-near-bc-for-pick-up-or-forwarding.194/. Unfortunately I haven't updated the list in a while but there is some information in the discussion that follows.

the company who shipped my item was able to re-route it! for my other packages, i told fedex and ups to hold them at their depot in bellingham if TLC refused and they agreed.

Their update indicates that they've obtained a temporary storage space for overflow packages which is good. They've already refused trucks full of shipments, so the damage has been done in terms of their reputation but at least less people will have to deal with refunds and losing out on shipping fees. Could have been much worse!

If you people no like, then don't use again, but you'll just use again in a few months. Crying about it doesn't get you your package.

as if! i've since learned of more professional outfits that will be receiving my business from now on. they're cheaper too.

    you're delusional pal

  17. P2P website: "We have an additional 4800 sq.ft. of empty space ready and waiting. This makes us the largest facility in Point Roberts, and we have no space restrictions in place. Please register with us before sending your first package."

I received 2 more pick up notifications that belonged to someone else with the same name, bringing the total to at least 5 . Every single time, I've emailed to let them know they have the wrong person.

Don't trust your packages with TLC, they're sloppy.
