"What river separates China and India? The Fraser River."

There is an increasing number of chinese residents in Surrey, particularly the Fleetwood, Cloverdale and Clayton area. Must be the high property prices in Vancouver, after all properties in Surrey is much larger than Vancouver properties.

You can't deny that Asian immigrants don't integrate well.

The land didn't belong to the Brits in the first place, so why are we whining? Our 'white' ancestors took it from the First Nations people who were the dominant race at the time. What goes around comes around. Call it Karma.

I half-agree with this. North America's history against the First Nations justifies non-white immigration, but it does not justify arrogant attitudes or bad citizenship by new people. Just as the country must protect them against bigotry, they need to learn English and modern ways. Not all white complaints are necessarily bigoted. Some grievances are legitimate.

If the attitude of our British ancestors was one of peace and respect for the land, languages and cultures of the majority race of those times, there may have been a solution that would blend their ways with our own and each culture would learn from the other and live hand in hand as ONE and not as either 'majority' or 'minority'.

Our ancestors didn't actually present themselves with friendly smiles and extended hands...unless they were plotting something devious. Seeing it from that perspective, what we are experiencing today in the way of arrogant attitudes and bad citizenship from new people is very well justified.

No better than the Europeans who came centuries ago either.

Civilization has taught that being a minority does not really matter. In fact, minorities have been ruling the world in huge empires for thousands of years..Rome, British Empire and even whites in South Africa and other areas are not really affected by their small number. I don't like the tone of the article.

Agreed, but two wrongs don't make a right. Moreover, do those who violate US or Canadian immigration laws ever do anything to help the First Nations? They just use them as a rebuttal. I have equal contempt for both white purists and immigrants who just use the country. Respect Canada. Respect America.
