That have broken down from plastics contamination of the oceans and then eaten by fish which we then consume:

What countries are the worst plastic polluters? Where is this entering the oceans?

    Global Waste Management:

"The amount of garbage humans throw away is rising fast and won't peak this century without transformational changes in how we use and reuse materials, write former World Bank urban development specialist Dan Hoornweg and two colleagues.

By 2100, they estimate, the growing global urban population will be producing three times as much waste as it does today. That level of waste carries serious consequences – physical and fiscal – for cities around the world."

    The UN Environmental Crime division:
    http://www.unicri.it/topics/environmental/

    "
UNICRI considers environmental crime, including its links with other forms of crime, a serious and growing danger for development, global stability and international security.

Since 1991, UNICRI has combated crimes against the environment and related emerging threats through applied research, awareness, and capacity-building initiatives. Today, countering environmental crime is an emerging priority for UNICRI work."

    "
A search of hundreds of UK beaches has found almost three-quarters are littered with nurdles.

The tiny plastic pellets are used to make new plastic products, but they can escape into the environment and end up getting washed out to sea.

They can be a danger to wildlife and can soak up chemical pollutants before releasing the toxins into the creatures that eat them, such as birds and fish."

The UNICRI should start by criminalizing industries who manufacture plastic bottles, bags and even disposable electronic gadgets, this vicious cycle in which consumers are dragged by fashion and irracional choices are drowning everyone in a Worldwide contamination, is now unbearable and it worries Me as it should worry every living entity.

Of course countries in an archipelago are prone in spewing their plastic waste in nearby ocean. As for China, their large population and industry contributes to plastic manufacture and waste.
