Using Public Transit in September?

Just a heads up: September can be the busiest month on Transit!

Thousand are heading back to school, back to universites/colleges, new schools, new jobs, new routines, etc... New routes... New drivers... New schedules...

PLAN AHEAD! Buses are busier, and get busier earlier... Rush hours are busier and longer...

You might have to catch one bus earlier than what you have been all summer or have planned to catch...

It's kind of funny how "everyone" wants the same bus. Example: "everyone" wants the 7:30 bus heading west towards UBC... It gets so busy that many are left behind for 2 or even 3 more buses... BUT if just a few came out for the 7:20 bus instead (OR one bus earlier), everything would have run a little smoother for all...

You can STILL SAVE $$$ And use FareSaver tickets... They will be accepted until at least the end of the year... Compass Pass is starting it's testing phase, but won't completely be up and running until 2014...

At some point in 2014, bus transfers will NOT be valid for travel onto SkyTrain or SeaBus... BUT that is months a way, and your option would be to switch to the new Compass Pass once it is up and running...
There will be a transitional period when both systems will be accepted, but at some point Everything will ultimitely switch to cash or Compass... Might take like a whole year to get rid of all of the older passes and tickets....

New Schedules as of Sept 2 are now out for you to use... Print form and online...

Surrey gets a new B-Line route running between Guildford- Surrey Central & Newton Exchange...
There are other changes and adjustments system wide...

PS: There are ever changing lists of Transit Employment Opportunities over on the Careers Page of TransLinks website as well....

Canada Line from Richmond into town was slammed today-hot stuffy like a tropical country.

Luckily I was close to the doors @ Olympic Station otherwise I would have had to push my way out.
