    Yeah, well we don't hear anything about how fast China is advancing from our Mainstream Media at all. So these updates are good. Why are we being so screwed by our 'Democratic'/oppressive gov'ts here in the West whilst clearly the East is growing and thriving?

    Even the advancements in Africa are kept silent here...

    You are right about the fact that the Mainstream Media here always keep silent about what's going on in China, I guess the main reason for that is the language barrier, English is not the official language in China, things happening in China need to be translated into English in order to communicate with the western world. Not that many people can do this translator thing in China, except for those people like me who have the experience living in western world and bilingual language skills, and most importantly, the willingness to communicate. From my 10 years of living experience in Canada, I have met so many local people who are judgemental about China or Chinese people based on very limited information & knowledge about modern China, and it makes me sad about the misunderstandings between different races & different cultures.

    YOu know I don't buy it. There's lots of journalists who can speak both Chinese and English. No one here cares to keep people truly informed.
