SCRAP-IT is a not-for-profit organization that aims to reduce emissions that contribute to air pollution.

We have removed over 25,000 vehicles off the roads, resulting in a reduction of 150,000 tonnes of greenhouse gases. SCRAP-IT doesn't just have a major impact on air quality. All scrapped vehicles and their components are permanently and properly recycled in accordance with the Environmental Management Act and Regulations. Mercury switches, waste oil, antifreeze, fuels and lead acid batteries post significant hazards to the environment. Proper recycling of these components is critical. The positive impact SCRAP-IT makes on the environment as well as the economy is far reaching.
