So I've just recently started becoming a n00b gym bunny and figuring stuff out, learning theory and how the body works and what kind of program to start. I've recently changed my eating habits (which was hard at first, but I'm getting used to it), started working out regularly (3 times a week) and gotten a program made by the dude at my gym.

Me bein.. partially overweight, not to the point where i'm obese. But I still got a tummy. I've gotten low self-esteem, as buddies around me are all fit and trim and work out. I've still got too much pride to ask them for help, but I feel better that I'm doing my study on it and learning how to work out. But i discovered the ECA stack after about a month after I started doin the whole hydroxycut thing. It didn't really do much for me and i felt i wasn't doin as good as it showed on TV (cuz obviously everything on tv is real lol). So i looked more into things... i stupidly went on M1T... then realized, meh. Supplements are a cheat. Patience isn't really part of my personality and a hard virtue to maintain. So I looked around, and found ECA Stacks... hrmmm... ephedrine, caffeine and aspirin. Now, after studying it, I honestly don't see anything wrong with it except for the fact that it's not approved by the FDA. And after a few deaths blamed by FDA, it was banned.

I mean, it might be a fairytale belief that this is actually doing something for me, but in the past 3 weeks that i've been doing the stack, working out, eating properly and cutting back on my cigarettes, I'm seeing results.

My question is, is there any long term effects doing the ECA stacks? Cuz honestly, i probably don't need it, but psychologically it makes me feel like i'm getting somewhere, and based on my personality and demeanor, i think it's helping me moreso mentally than physically (well, actually. i do have better cardio when on it). But how harmful are the longterm effects of an ECA stack? Out of everything, i honestly don't see it as being that bad. But anyone got 2 cents on 'em?

Not a good idea. "Ephedrine and ephedra promote modest short-term weight loss ({approx}0.9 kg/mo more than placebo) in clinical trials. There are no data regarding long-term weight loss, and evidence to support use of ephedra for athletic performance is insufficient. Use of ephedra or ephedrine and caffeine is associated with increased risk of psychiatric, autonomic, or gastrointestinal symptoms, and heart palpitations." From the Journal of the American Medical Association (http://jama.ama-assn.org/cgi/content/full/289/12/1537)

How partially overweight are you? It's probably your own natural body weight, so it's not unhealthy. If you really want to lose it, then I'd do it through more conventional methods (keep track of what you eat, exercise).
