    Coquitlam School District invites applications from individuals for the position of Data Manager - LINC.

    As the third largest school district in the province we are located within a 40 minute drive from downtown Vancouver. The school district has a population of 30,000 students with approximately 3500 teaching, administrative, managerial and support staff.

    The Data Manager position involves the management of information and data systems at LINC which includes Coquitlam Continuing Education, Coquitlam Open Learning, the Customized Learning Centre, Summer Learning and other alternative programs. It involves supervision, site supervision, and working as part of the LINC leadership team. Currently LINC depends on a number of data systems and process structures, both internal and external, to gather, manage and report on data as required. Student data management, reporting and audit compliance requirements for these fast growing programs dictate that data be carefully managed with a high degree of accuracy and reliability.

    This position reports to the District Principal for Continuing Education / LINC with responsibility to the Manager of Information Services for decisions involving information / data systems design, development, and security.

    Required Education and Experience

    • A diploma or degree in one of the following disciplines:
    o Computer Science; Information Systems; Management Information Systems; Information and Communications Technology; Major in another discipline with minor in any of the above
    Or an appropriate combination of training and applicable industry experience
    • Experience leading large and complex information systems projects/initiatives
    • A minimum of 5 years related work experience, preferably in a complex unionized environment
    • A high degree of technical knowledge in information systems
    • A valid BC driver’s license
    • Previous experience with BCeSIS considered an asset
    • In depth knowledge of Microsoft Sharepoint considered an asset
