Amy's Baking Company - Facebook Meltdown

Edit: Appears the blow up was fake. They're claiming that they were hacked. In hindsight, the comments are a bit too looney and out of character, especially the fake reddit screenshot. They called Phil Spry a "FUTURMA REJECT". I doubt either of them would know what Futurama is. 4chan or Anonymous? We got played.

The owners of ABC Amy's Baking Company in Scottsdale, Arizona have brought their insanity to the internet. Reminds me of some of the crazies on this site.

For context, Amy & Samy Bouzaglo's restaurant was featured on the finale of Kitchen Nightmares (S06E16).

The episode was leaked on Youtube early via Global and then taken down, but you can still watch the full episode here:



Since that time, their website, facebook, twitter, yelp etc. pages have been flooded by hateful comments around the world. It's very much cyberbullying.

They initially kept their cool with this response:

Her real name is Amanda Patricia Bossingham. Her husband is Salomon Bouzaglo.

The court ordered her to pay $36,294.95 in restitution. Ms. Bossingham plead guilty to submitting an application for a line of credit with M & I Bank using the social security number of another person. The Bank approved the line of credit in the amount of $15,000.

On June 15, 2004, the Court sentenced her to fourteen months prison. (she appealed, but eventually lost, reported to prison in Oct, 7, 2008)

I have mixed thoughts on the whole situation. Amy and Samy, from their attitude and conduct alone, are not fit to run a restaurant. They were personally insulting people on Yelp years before Kitchen Nightmares, stealing other people's pictures, not being upfront about tips, etc. They have no concept of customer service and have persecutory delusions.

On the other hand, I don't think it was responsible for FOX and the Kitchen Nightmares producers to air the episode knowing that the woman likely had a psychiatric condition. The people attacking them on Yelp and Facebook are just as crazy and messed up as the owners. Amy and Samy are indeed batshit crazy, but is it moral to antagonize and push them over the edge for our entertainment? What if they were unstable enough to turn suicidal or homicidal? They should be encouraged to get medical help instead of being taunted and bullied by idiots who think they're being funny.

You need pretty thick skin to be on Kitchen Nightmares due to how contrived it is. The routine where Gordon "tastes" the food and mocks it? It's the same in every episode. Predictable and fake. Gordon Ramsay hyperbolizing the use of frozen ravioli? Frozen is a common industry practice. Not everything is made in-house. The sheeple lambasting Amy and Samy don't appear to realize this. Keep in mind that Gordon Ramsay himself is a hypocrite. He's had restaurants fail and he uses ready-made boil-in-a-bag meals for his restaurants (source). So much for fresh?

This place is a short drive from one of my condos in phoenix. The one I stay in when I am there. I would never even consider eating in this dump. You can tell by their attitude it will never work. Such a disgusting pair.
