having a house is the most basic right of individuals and now that We lost the home grant is going to be impossible for many residents to pay for property taxes, the exaggerated property value used by the BC Government and Municipalities are designed to strip homeowners from its right to own a home.
If You haven't received yet Your property tax notice, you are set for a BIG SURPRISE!!!

I like You, I am scared to lose My house.

The BC Liberals Provincial and Municipal "authorities" had gone to far abusing residents using oppressive tactics to intimidate property owners who eventually are going to lose the basic right to have a home.

Pass it on and request from the Canadian Bar Association, BC, Branch to
Please consider a class action against the BC Government and Municipalities to stop the abuse against homeowners.

a Home is not an investment that you can sell for profit is a basic right! and if You notice,if You make a repair that improves your home, they will tax you more. I guess will have to live in a home wreck huh?

lets go after the BC Government and Municipal Mafia.

There are certain 'basic' things that should never be a commodity but clearly are in this parasitical, Capitalism we have now: housing, food, water. The list should probably be longer.

Thank You flutterby and mechanic for your interest...
MLA's are more part of the game than lawyers because MLA's are tax exempt, you can see the petition against MLA's ' at the Canadian Tax Payers Federation,
the bar is now willing to go after the government moreover if they see enough interest from residents to make a class action, they will not let go that 33% commission/gain coming either from settlement or from a final decision at the courthouse.
Please send Your petition for a class action against the provincial and municipal government.
or you can just sit and wait for them to take your house.

In a certain way yes, but I wanted to say Councillors and the mayors are tax exempt in their salaries, I am sure that home taxes are included as free ride.
You can see the petition here...
    https://www.taxpayer.com/resource-centre/petitions/petition?tpContentId=6

Sorth description of this petition below...
    TAKE BACK CITY HALL:

To the Auditor General for Local Government,

We, the undersigned residents of British Columbia, formally request you review and remove the tax-free status of one-third of salaries for mayor and councillors. This historic anachronism needs to be changed.

Several years ago, the provincial government scrapped the tax-free allowance for its MLAs, and now it's time to change the law and dump this perk for municipal politicians.

Everyone should pay their own way when it comes to taxes. It's neither fair nor just for someone to wriggle out of paying income tax just because they are an elected official.

However I should bring to your attention that I had contacted my MLA and all I had in response was justification for the high property taxes, you can try if you want to see for yourself.

I received My property tax yesterday, I am in shock after learning how abusive and cynical is the Gov. of bc. $7,289.43ยข in property taxes for My home, this is like throwing money to the garbage.
all this machine put in place like organized crime (real sate companies, bc assessment and bc gov)to bring property taxes up and tax your home is like a hate crime, a punishment for having a home.

The dreams of owning a home in BC had become a nightmare and a threat from the BC Gov.
surely there is a plot to steal Our homes, a threshold that go only to 1,600,000 is easily surpassed in the 90% of homes in the province. furthermore, those homeowners who sold a big house for a smaller one, is a matter of time till they get to you and tax you to death.
that is why we should unite and fight for our freedom to have the basic right to have a house without the threat of being stripped of it.
