... it was friday morning and the snow was coming down hard, piling up quickly while i waited for the bus. to add to the peril, the roads hadn't been plowed (!) and they looked treacherous as hell. i was positive the bus would be quite late -- if it showed up at all ...

... yet, while every other bus service in town had been canceled, our driver put the passengers first and got in his vehicle and braved the conditions and came to get us: and he was right on time!

... there was one scary point where he got stuck on a hill and the bus almost slid into the ditch, but with steely determination he persisted and slowly, ever so slowly, he got the skidding bus up the hill and delivered us to our destination ...

... must say, i was VERY IMPRESSED with the driver's courage on friday. i think he deserves a medal or a commendation for his good work. he did it the way it should be done ...

... have you seen anything similar? comments?

A few decades ago, I was in UBC. After class, it was snowing like crazy. Went to the bus loop and not a single bus was there. Then one bus came, dropped off passengers and the sign changed to NIS. One of the students asked the driver to take us and he did, even though he was, I guess, officially off duty. He drove to just the depot at 41st and Oak where I managed to catch another bus to get home.
