These days it's all about facebook, twitter, instagram, reddit, snapchat ... but they're not the same. The sense of community isn't as strong.

I grew up with BBS and bulletin boards but these days active communities are hard to come by unless it's a very niche topic. People grow up, get jobs, start families ... sigh.

People will come back to forae? They are safer than other Social Media.

I grew up in the BBS days. I recall that occasionally, we would meet up somewhere and hang out. Those events were called, "modem meets" as you needed a modem to connect to a BBS. It was cool finding out what people looked like.

BBS was way before my time.

I first started out on the internet in 2005 at the age of 18 with email and forums.

I discovered Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter in the late 2000's and continued using them until the mid 2010's.

But last year I did a major purge of social media accounts in an attempt to better my life.

I'm currently back to just email and forums. :)
